Cambridge is renowned for its May Balls. These are held at the end of the academic term. They were originally held in May before the year-end exams but now they take place in May Week which starts on the second Thursday in June.

Bicycle Shop

Bicycles are popular in Cambridge with both students and tourists. For the tourists it is an easy way to get around and see Cambridge (it is relatively flat after all and most things are condensed into a small compact central area which is generally inaccessible by motor vehicles anyway). For the student, it is not only cheap transport but there is a university regulation that forbids students to bring a motor vehicle to within a 5 mile radius of Great St Mary’s Church.
